For over 75 years, the School of Art at Bowling Green State University has provided a nurturing environment, encouraging students to express their creative voice in a school where art is innovative, vibrant, and full of possibilities. The affordable and cost-effective setting of the program in a public high school encourages a greater socio-economic and geographic diversity of talented young artists, attracting students across Novato, Marin County and the wider Bay Area. NMSA is a public/private partnership comprised of a legislatively created, residential, public high school and the NMSA-Art Institute, a nonprofit art educational institution.
Creative Arts students explore and learn the core subjects of language arts, math, science, and social studies through direct experience and a hands-on curriculum with an arts-integrated focus. Cooper Union in New York City is among the most selective of art schools, admitting 4%, with every student on half scholarship.
