The range of subjects offered by Bern University of Arts (HKB) extends from Design, Art, Conservation and Restoration to Literature, Music, Opera and Theatre. In 1944, the Children’s Dance Theatre, later known as the Philadelphia Dance Academy, was established by Nadia Chilkovsky Nahumck In 1962, the Conservatory of Music and the Musical Academy merged, then, in 1976, the combined organization acquired the Dance Academy, and renamed itself the Philadelphia College of the Performing Arts.
Founded in the 19th and early 20th centuries, the six colleges that make up the university: Camberwell College of Arts, Central Saint Martins, Chelsea College of Arts, London College of Communication, London College of Fashion, and Wimbledon College of Arts, have international reputations in a range of creative fields.

The Guild and Technical School opened in Clerkenwell in the same year, but moved a year later to Bolt Court, and became the Bolt Court Technical School; it was later renamed the London County Council School of Photoengraving and Lithography. In 1985, the Philadelphia College of Art and the Philadelphia College of the Performing Arts merged to become the Philadelphia Colleges of the Arts, and gained university status as the University of the Arts in 1987. The entire path for over 40 years of the University of Arts has been a systematic growth path for the specialties, also the implementation of the Bologna Card in the recent year had it’s own importance. Brown University, in Providence, established in 1764, offers bachelor’s in arts and science.
