Creative arts therapists and community artists work in diverse settings across a wide spectrum of populations, assisting people through all life stages. Both professional and familial caregivers are faced with the realities of human suffering, illness, and mortality on a daily basis, and the arts offer caregivers an opportunity for self-expression, allowing each a safe place to understand their experiences and emotions.arts and health

Policy proposals will be formulated by the early autumn, informed by an Advisory Group of representatives from a wide range of professional organisations, health and social care providers and charities, statutory bodies, artists and cultural organisations.arts and health

This article is not meant to be a comprehensive review of all of the literature available (other authors have provided comprehensive overviews in areas such as music therapy 32 and expressive writing 33 ). Instead, it represents a sampling of the many potential benefits of art in enhancing health and wellness.
