Most of the courses offered by the Arts and Communication Department satisfy requirements for a liberal arts degree. You are interested in the study of arts and culture from many different perspectives. Art and Media Communications combines rigorous and relevant experiential study of modern, post-modern, and contemporary visual art and design with student learning in media literacy and technology applications. The College of Fine Arts and Communication seeks to be Arkansas’ preeminent provider of undergraduate education in the arts as well as to offer excellent graduate programs in selected disciplines. This module will identify and evaluate the means and purposes of creative communication and the value of working in groups as a condition of the new participatory and collaborative nature of media communication under the processes of digitisation. Most subject areas within the Bachelor of Arts (Media and Communications) allow for students to take part in an international exchange program.

The School of Communications maintains labs that offer state-of-the-art facilities to allow students to practice professional skills they learn in the classroom. Our new Arts, Literature and Communication program is built on the idea that students follow their own creative path. There are many types of jobs in the spheres of art and communication, and a common trait is that they require creativity and ingenuity. The Arts and Digital Literacy Initiative is a partnership between the Texas Cultural Trust and the College of Fine Arts at The University of Texas at Austin.

The College of the Arts and Communication at William Paterson University offers undergraduate and graduate programs in the visual arts, communication, and music. Our programs blend emerging practices with traditional communication so you can set yourself up for a career in the new media landscape. The Bachelor of Arts (Media and Communications) honours year is both a preparation for postgraduate study and a capstone to an undergraduate degree. Students must complete 78 credit points (cp) in compulsory Media and Communications units of study. Our courses are delivered at our Mount Lawley and Joondalup campuses, with Arts and Social Work also available at our South West Campus in Bunbury. This module will introduce students to the broad range of key concepts, debates and skills necessary to undertake further study in Media and Communication.

A major comprises the satisfactory completion of 36 senior credit points (cp) in a single subject area from Table A of the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, table of units of study. So, regardless of your academic path, you will find that the Arts and Communication Department has something for you.

Students leave this program with an understanding of cultural institutions and their place in society as well as an appreciation of the socio-cultural implications of the arts and/or languages.
