Indigenous Visual Arts Industry Support Program

The fundraiser brings in substantial support of the Cultural Alliance’s mission: To market the region; to develop livable communities; and to provide opportunities and resources to the creative community it serves. The purpose of the AFA’s Individual Artists Project Grant program is to support the development of individual Alberta artists, arts administrators or an ensemble of Alberta artists by providing a grant for a specific arts-related project. OAC has established a funding program dedicated to Deaf artists and artists with disabilities The program supports the creation and production of new work, and professional development through grants of up to $10,000. As a Co-Founder of Arts @ Large , I have attended numerous Americans for the Arts conferences where my national network has grown. In 2015-16, the Ontario Arts Council funded 1,676 individual artists and 1,125 organizations in 209 communities across Ontario for a total of $50.5 million. By granting financial contributions, we enable the production of new artistic work, strengthen cultural exchange between Switzerland’s various linguistic regions, raise international awareness of Swiss culture, foster up-and-coming young artists and engage in arts outreach. Grants will support a wide range of activities from an arts education project led by the Regional Arts & Culture Council of Portland Oregon to support The Right Brain Initiative: Systemic Change Through the Arts, to a visual arts project led by STARworks Center for Creative Enterprise in Star, North Carolina to support an arts exhibition down the town’s main street.

NEW: The AFA 25th Anniversary Commemorative Art Projects are a one-time funding opportunity to create a legacy artwork, performance, or composition that reflects the evolution of Alberta’s arts community over the past 25 years. State Government funding will create new arts experiences for Queensland audiences with investment from the Queensland Arts Showcase Program. The IVAIS program also supports the Indigenous Art Code , an industry-led voluntary code of conduct that promotes fair and ethical trade between art dealers and Indigenous visual artists. The Paley Center for Media (New York & Los Angeles) BMI supports seminars on composing television music; a database of programs with music contributed by BMI composers.

The Indigenous Visual Arts Industry Support (IVAIS) program supports a professional, viable and ethical Indigenous visual arts industry with strong participation by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. We also strive to increase the capacity and resources of community-based arts organizations.

An assessment committee made up of OAC staff from the visual arts and craft office,the Deaf and Disability Arts & Access committee as well as artists or arts professionals from the disability arts sector reviews applications and makes recommendations on an ongoing basis.supports and arts
