The School of Art at the University of Cincinnati is housed within the renowned College of Design, Architecture, Art, and Planning and is currently ranked among top programs nationwide. Since the School assumed operations of the Plaza in July 2011, thousands of community members have rediscovered that the Mexican Heritage Plaza is the ideal location to have a wedding, an intimate meeting, a conference, a family celebration, and any other type of event.
As a winner of the Elizabeth ‘Neill Verner Award – South Carolina’s highest award in the arts, the School of the Arts has been recognized for its tremendous academic programming, dedicated artist-scholars and extensive community outreach. The School of the Arts is a vibrant community of practicing artists who are also dedicated teacher-scholars. DVSA provides high quality, accessible and affordable visual arts education that encourages excellence and personal fulfillment for children and adults.
The Faculty of Arts supports currently enrolled students with orientation events, enrichment activities and advice on study options such as internships and overseas study; and offers information for future students who wish to study with the Faculty.

The School of Art has been accredited by the National Association of Schools of Art and Design since 1984. Marco de Jong has been named the Arts Student of the Year by the Auckland University Arts Students’ Association.
It offers disciplinary-specific degrees in contemporary and historical arts as well as innovative cross-disciplinary programmes combining art, archaeology, music and media. School of Art graduates work as artists, animators, museum administrators, photographers, teachers, gallery managers, and commercial designers. These include: Arts Undergraduate Research Awards, Community Service Learning courses, Arts Co-op, Arts Internship, International learning, student mobility and destination study.
