The B.S. in EMAC (Electronic Media, Arts, and Communication) is a unique interdisciplinary curriculum that includes courses in communication as well as in digital art and animation, video, electronic music, and graphic design, supported by Rensselaer’s strong technological infrastructure.
While acknowledging that face-to-face communication skills remain crucial in today’s job market, the MACS major also recognizes the central role of technology in career advancement and develops skills in the application of visual art and computer technology to the process of communication.
Among the College’s specialized facilities are two brand new, high definition broadcast television studios; brand new music performance recital rooms and practice rooms; music recording and audio production facilities; an electronic music laboratory; film, animation, and graphic design studios; and state-of-the-art classrooms.
